Christmas Season 2021 Upcoming Events
During the holiday season we try and give back to the community. One thing we do each year is donate time to play some live Christmas music for the Salvation Army donation kettles at Shoprite and Walmart (and K-Mart before they closed). Having live music there really does help increase donations for the Salvation Army during their holiday season fund drive and it’s fun too!
We have the following items coming up in the next 2 months (click the links to see the posted event page for each):
Christmas Tree Lighting – Saturday 11/27/2021 – 6pm-7pm dress warm playing carols near the Erie Restaurant.
Tuba Christmas @ Christkindlmarkt. Sunday, 11/28 10am – 2pm Need Volunteers for helping setup/registration. Please contact Shary at 703-593-2143 or kranchworks@gmail.com if you would like to participate or help.
Kettles for Salvation Army – Shoprite kettles will be on Fridays 12/3, 12/10, 12/17 from 6-8pm. Walmart kettles will be Saturdays 12/4, 12/11, 12/18 from 1-3pm. All members are welcome to play! We play from lyre sized Caroling books. Dress warmly. We usually stand and play. Some things you might want to bring with you is a lyre for your instrument, a music stand and clothes pins (it can be windy), a folding chair, some hand warmers, hot chocolate or coffee etc.
Christmas Parade – Sunday, 12/5 1pm lineup 2pm step off. Festive dress. Feel free to decorate your instrument!
Christmas Concert – 12/18/2021 6pm. Christmas Concert – the Broome Street Wind Ensemble, woodwind quartet and quintet, brass ensemble.
