Wind Ensemble Music Library Updates

The teal bin (usually on the tables next to the practice room windows) with hanging folders in it (labeled by instrument parts, for example; flute, trumpet etc.) is the music turn in place and new music retrieval place. Check here when you arrive to retrieve new parts for the evening’s rehearsal and return parts here when they are scheduled for return. Below are the current library rules:

COLLECTING MUSIC – “OLD MUSIC”
Take the manilla folder for your section. Collect all copies of all parts for your section
and place them in the manilla folder. Return the manilla folder to the hanging file with
the same name in the teal crate. We would like to have all parts turned in no later than
(NLT) 2 rehearsals after the pieces are announced for return.

HANDING OUT MUSIC – “NEW” MUSIC
New music will be put in the manilla folder for your section. Take the manilla folder and
put the appropriate part copy in each folder in your section. Make sure each folder has a
copy. Extra parts can stay in the manilla folder. Return the manilla folder to the hanging
folder with the same name in the teal crate. New music will stay in the manilla folder for
2 weeks until it is returned to the score box.

NEED A PART COPY?
Score boxes for each piece in the folders are located in the black crate. If you’re at
practice, please ask for a copy. If you’re not at practice, send an email to
library@broomestreetbands.org, and a part will be waiting for you by the next rehearsal.

MAY I TAKE MY MUSIC HOME TO PRACTICE?
You may, yes! We need to know your contact information so we can get it back. Also, if
you’re not going to be at the next rehearsal, make sure your music can be present. You
can drop it off during the week at Al’s Music (12-5 MTWF, 41 Fowler St.)

MAY I MAKE COPIES OF MY PART(S)?
Yes. Copyright law allows for ONE copy for personal/practicing use, unless otherwise
indicated on the music.
